Welcome to the Littlest Tumor Foundation's 30 day awareness campaign!!!
Join us in kick-starting our 30-day awareness raising campaign throughout the month of July by checking out health and wellness guru Kris Carr's website, blog and documentary "Crazy, Sexy Cancer." Kris is a cancer survivor and has been one of our greatest inspirations when it comes to wellness promotion and fighting tumor growth through holistic practices. During the second week of our campaign, we will ask families to participate in a 7-day Real Food Vegetarian Challenge. Email us to participate at: littlesttumor@me.com. Participants will be entered into a drawing to win Carr's bestseller, "Crazy, Sexy Diet." Find her on Facebook and find real inspiration!

Laughter is contagious and healing!
Ever have one of those days where you just need a laugh?!? Sue Ansari understands and so do we at the Littlest Tumor Foundation. "Sue Ansari RN is grounded firmly in the belief of mind, body and spirit medicine which she has for years combined with traditional medicine practices. In addition to being a Laughter Yoga teacher, Sue is also a certified lymphatic therapist, Cancer Guide, a raw food chef and instructor, a Circle of Life Wellness Coach, a guided imagery therapist, as well as a certified holistic health counselor." Born Brave!
Take a look at our brave little guy Sami, eight years old and a NF fighter. Today, he'll let you know what its like to fight NF and stay brave. Sami's positivity and strength has enabled him to strive and battle his disorder. Tumors won't stand in Sami's way!

Meditation Expert Sharon Salzberg Supports LTF
Check out our blog, "Wellness Diaries" to view New York Times Best Selling author Sharon Salzberg's guest blog. Sharon is an expert when it comes to meditation and having a healthy mind. "Born in New York City in 1952, Sharon Salzberg experienced a childhood involving considerable loss and turmoil. An early realization of the power of meditation to overcome personal suffering determined her life direction. Her teaching and writing now communicates that power to a worldwide audience of practitioners." We can all learn something from Sharon's story.

Lean, mean, tumor fighting machine: YOGA!
It's the middle of the week. We're all starting to feel the pressure. What better way to relieve yourself of that stress then to partake in some yoga. Stress relief is of vital importance to those struggling with NF and yoga is a simple way to fight back. Just start with the basics. Take a few minutes out of your day, focus on yourself and hop into a simple yoga position.

Come one come all to the 7 day vegetarian Challenge: Wellness for a Cure!
Starting today through the 22nd, the Littlest Tumor Foundation is having their 7 day vegetarian challenge. During the course of these next two weeks we ask you to pick 7 days to go meatless. We encourage you all to sign up by either contacting the foundation through phone at (920) 475-6599 or by e-mailing us at littlesttumorfoundation@me.com. We encourage you to cook outside of the box for this challenge and push yourself, your families, and your friends to go meatless for seven days. LTF was inspired by health guru Kris Carr and her nutritious attitude towards eating well and loving your body. At the end of the two weeks, there will be a drawing for a copy of Carr's book, Crazy, Sexy, Diet. All the people that signed up for the 7 day challenge will be eligible to win! Saturday July 9th-Kathy Freston Supports the Littlest Tumor Foundation!
Award winning veganist extraordinaire, Kathy Freston, has been seen on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Good Morning America, the Martha Stewart Show and now on the Littlest Tumor Foundation 30 day campaign! "Freston promotes a body/mind/spirit approach to health and happiness that includes a concentration on healthy diet, emotional introspection, spiritual practice, and loving relationships, among other tenets. Her work is focused on providing guidance for conscious and healthy living in our increasingly busy world. Freston continually cites the proven value of "leaning into" change and the benefits of "progress, not perfection." Kathy is a great role model for the Littlest Tumor Foundation! Cucumber Cream Cheese Sammie (Serves 2)
1/4 Cup Cream Cheese
1 Persian Cucumber, thinly sliced (any variety of cucumber will work, but I like the Persians for this sandwich)
4 Slices Whole Wheat Bread
1. Spread 1 tbsp of cream cheese on one piece of the bread and top with thin slices of half of the cucumber.
2. On another slice of bread, spread another tbsp of cream cheese and then sandwich the two slices together.
3. Continue to make the second sammie.
4. Cut in half or quarters and serve.

Here at the Littlest Tumor Foundation we believe that Tumor prevention IS one day achievable! Besides feeding the body nutritious food, understanding the research is important too! The Band Unity supports the Littlest Tumor Foundation
Starting July 30th The Littlest Tumor Foundation is kicking of their "little builds a cure" campaign at the Appleton farmers market. We would love to have everyone stop by our booth, take a picture holding our sign, and support the movement. Alana from the Band Unity supports the LTF!
